Mixed Media Visual Artist Marie Dutka Brix
I see my work as a dance between naturalism and abstraction, between the containment of a form and the swirling pent-up energy trapped within.

Painting Inspired by the Fingerprint

Marie Dutka Brix is a visual artist whose work explores identity, memory, and the marks we leave behind. She transforms fingerprints, palm prints, and lip prints into abstract compositions that balance naturalism and design.
Most recently her work was included in the Red Clay Survey, 2020, an Exhibition of Contemporary Southern Art, at the Huntsville Museum of Art, and in the regional exhibition, Artfields, 2021 and 2025, in Lake City, South Carolina. From August 28 through October 31, 2025, her pieces are being displayed in the Southern Arts Invitational in Moultrie, GA.
Marie Dutka Brix is a mixed media artist based in Huntsville, Alabama, specializing in art inspired by typewriter ribbon, fingerprints, and railroad objects.
